little school girl

Brinley's first day of kindergarten was today. She couldn't wait to get to school. Are you excited?...
"YES!!!!"
We went to a little "meet and greet" yesterday at the school. She got to pick out her own seat and found her cubby. Since Matt was able to go with us this morning, she showed him all around the room.

As soon as she dropped her bag by her name tag, she was out the door with a new friend, racing to the playground and didn't say a word to either of us. Matt was a little sad, I think he expected that she would hang out with her parents for a few minutes. Nope, not miss social butterfly. When the bell rang to get in line, she blew us a kiss, like "see ya later, you can go now". The little stinker.

I waited at the bus stop, a little early...okay, a lot early. She came off the bus with a HUGE smile, but was really disappointed that the bus trip was short. We live like 2 blocks from the school. It's nice to be able to have your kid dropped off practically at your door step.Me: "What was your favorite part of school?"

Brinley: "The playground."

Oh how sweet. I totally can see Kylee like that next year. Not even caring that she is leaving mom and dad and going to school. Which is totally fine with me. I'm glad to have a social butterfly. Brinley looks adorable in her new school outfit and she even gets to ride the bus that is so grown up. SOrry to hear about the root canal. I know being pregnant doesn't leave you with many options for pain control, but I'm with you I'd rather have a pap smear then a root canal anyday, but getting just your teeth cleaned is another story. I hope you are flossing : )

I can't believe that she is already in kindergarten! She looks so excited and very cute. My kids don't start until the 4th and Cameron and Katie start on the 8th. Katie has the same backpack.

that is so cute! i think it's great that she was so excited. what an independant girl. me on the other hand...kate will probably be clingy and crying that day. ugh! unfortunately she takes after my shy side. paybacks, i guess.

That cute little Brinley!!! Congrats on a successful first day of school.

I can't tell you how jealous I am of the bus dropping your kid right at your doorstep: that's luxurious living, my dear. I am the bus to and from school, and it's NOT a job I enjoy!

So cute! Did you cry? It is super weird sending them off to the big world of school. Welcome to a new world, it is growing on me!

I love hearing about all of the kids starting school. They are all so cute. That is so depressing that you had to have a root canal. Tylenol doesn't do a whole lot for me either, which is so annoying because that is all that you can take.

I am so glad we decided to go to the same school. Kaitlyn was thrilled about Brinley going and a little disappointed that she has to wait another year. If they'd let her in now, she'd be totally ready. Oh well, we are enjoying home preschool.

what a doll! Karlie starts preschool next week and was distraught that Brinley wasn't going to be in her class... I don't know why she had the impression that she would be...

What a cutie! It is a cliche, but true--they grow up so fast! I'm glad she liked her first day, and of course who doesn't like the playground best?

What a ham! Love her excited picture! I didn't realize you were sending her to school. I am sure it's a wise decision with all you have going on..
