Earlier this week, I got an email asking me about PKD. She and her family lost a baby last year to Anencephaly and are now pregnant and due in October with another baby. They found out last week that the baby girl, Brecken, she is currently pregnant with, has Polycystic Kidney Disease. I can't imagine what this family is feeling right now. From reading her blog, it sounds like the kidney's are functioning to some degree. If the baby lives, she will need to be on dialysis and will need a kidney transplant early on in life.
