blah, blah, blah...

I hate being sick! It's not often that I get so sick that I don't do anything but sleep and just sit on the couch and stare into space. This week, I had two full days of it...Thank you Julie for taking Brinley for a night. Finally, I feel better and can get back to packing my house.

Friday, Julie and I took Brinley and Cody swimming at the Y. Those kids are like little fish! Then Cody spent the night and went to a primary activity with us. Cody was a little sad that his name wasn't on the table with Brinley's class, so it was added. They played a game about getting to know each other. When Cody was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up he said " a train driver". I think trains run in the Erickson blood...my grandpa worked with trains, my dad worked with trains, my uncles worked with and one still works with trains...go figure, he wants too also.

After having been sick this week, I was glad that no one else got it...then Sunday comes and my little Brinley girl gets the bug. Since I was substituting in Primary, she got to be home with her daddy.

Holy cow! Is it cold here. We got more snow last night and then the wind came and has been blowing all day. Our thermometer said 21, but it felt like 2. Tomorrow the high is 15, the low 6...don't you wish you were here right now?

We got our copy of the autopsy report and I sent my sister-in-law, Juli, a copy because she is a medical transcriptionist and could tell me what things meant. (thank you Juli!) she got it back to me today and we saw that her lungs were somewhat "flip-flopped", meaning that the lung that usually has two lobes had three and the one with three lobes had two. We also found that her liver had severe congestion, a result of poor heart function and that her umbilical cord, which should have consisted of three vessels, 2 arteries and 1 vein, had two vessels and 1 artery. I'm sorry if this is too much information, but medical stuff fascinates me. Matt hates when I watch any kind of surgery on TV.

Today is just one of those rambling days...

My husband knows a friends of yours . .so I wondered on to your site that way. but I am glad I did. My little sister died from the same thing as Olivia. I am 29 and I still imagine what I would have done and played if my little sister had more years on earth.

I know it was very hard for my parents, my father was a Doctor and knew too much of what was going on. My parents held resentment about their loss towards each other. I hope I am not over stepping boundaries, or being to open to a complete stranger.

thanks for letting me share about my missed little sister.

What a great blog you have!! It's such a great opportunity for others to share and to feel connected with you!

sorry about being so sick.. it's probably because you live in a freezing cold place that never seems to get warm. That's all that I remember about Spokane-- especially during this time of year!

Good luck with the house packing. Hope you and Brinley feel better soon.

Well you know that I felt honored to help with that report. I always say that "knowing is half the battle". We got a ton of snow this morning here. It usually takes me 15 mins to get to work and it took me and hour and 15 minutes. 4 mph. The snow is sure pretty though. What kind of sick did you have? I have had the sore throat thing. K. I am blah, blah, blah too. Love ya.

I had a nasty cold/sinus kinda thing going on. I am very sensitive to medication for colds and allergies...very sensitive, remember Stadol, during labor with Brinley? I snored through most of the labor...anyway, I took a Tylenol PM and slept 12 hours. I needed the sleep, but I think Matt was going nuts with Brinley.
I felt like crap, and really needed to take something for it, but I usually just do the Vitamin C thing, it wasn't enough.

Hey, question unrelated to your post: Would you ask your parents if they have a specific memory of my parents to share for a book I'm assembling for their 50TH ANNIVERSARY!? Or if you have something or Julie that you would like to share, let me know! Thanks!
