I love sock monkeys/monsters. I don't think a lot of people know that. The first one I made was Mya, she belongs to Cody and was given to him on his first birthday. This past Christmas I made my brother's girls and Julie each a monkey. I am addicted. I found some more adorable socks and I want to make sock monsters.
How can you not love something so ugly? I believe you would have to know how to knit to make these, but it's not hard to figure out how to make them from store bought socks.

Kami- I still have to make some for Corinne's kids. Julie was there when I made the one she got and she loved it, so I gave it to her. I will make you one too.

Kim- there are free patterns all over the internet.

Congrats on the house! You deserve it. Ya, I mean Danielle Beede! She is married, 3 kids and lives in Roosevelt. We got together quite often when I first moved back to the area, but it has lapsed too long! And her little brother Morgan got married last week! Crazy, huh.

so crazy, but I wanted to try and make something like that for my nieces and nephews for Christmas. I didn't want to teach myself last minute and didn't have time, so I just bought everyone gifts...these are SO cute, and maybe I should do birthdays with these. I LOVE their ugliness!

I found your blog on Kami's.
I saw this book and don't know why I didn't get it. I have had a thing for sock monkeys lately.
I like your blog. It's fun to check up on the Ericksons after so many years.

The kids and I went shopping tonight and bought valentine socks to make our monkeys. So glad to have an idea for a fun craft. We were needing an idea. Love you!

I loved my sock monkey growing up!! But yours are so much cuter. You just proved that you are the craftiest, most creative person alive. I love stealing new ideas from you!

I'm in the process of making the monkeys. Abby likes hers so much she was carrying it around, just legs and body (see her picture from this morning). Did you buy the book you have posted? Saw it a couple days ago and wondered about it.
