Oh my gosh. What a weekend! I don't think I have been that busy in a while. Friday was spent getting ready for Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday was spent at the emergency Preparedness Fair where I sat outside for 4 hours talking to people about how to make and use an apple box oven. I baked a cake in it and it turned out way better than the muffins I had made. It's a great idea for not having to use your oven in the Summer and heat your house.I was placed next to the delicious smells of dutch oven cooking, but i got to try all of the food they made. and they let me use their canopy for a few minutes.
That afternoon we went to my parents house for a bbq. We couldn't stay long because I had to clean some offices for a friend who is out of town for the week. We got home at about 8 and put on a movie, which I fell asleep during. Since I crashed on the couch with my head next to an open window, I woke up with water all over my face. It had started to pour rain and it lasted quite a while.
Sunday we were 1/2 hour late to church. but at least we made it. After church I came home to bake a cake for one of the moms from the MISS Foundation Support Group. Brinley found the frosting...
but didn't want me to take a picture of her chocolate mustache and goatee.
The cake was delicious and the scrapbook night a success. We had a great turn out and are going to try and have something like this quarterly. We had pizza from a place i have never tried before and it was GOOD! I think it's worth trying again for GNO. The place is called Benidito's. YUM!

Sounds like fun. I have never heard of Apple box oven either. I will have to do a search on google about it, or maybe I will have to bug you for the instructions.
You look very cute with the baby bump!
An apple box oven - very interesting. And it actually works, even more interesting. How do you make and use it?
Didn't we go to a pizza place downtown once? I can't remember what it was called, but I remember Candace was there. What was the name of it??
I used to do reflector oven cooking at camp which looks very similar to what you have going there. The girls always loved it because I would make cookies all the time. But it has been so many years I don't know if I still could.
You look wonderful!!!
So are you up for mini golfing still or pizza. Pizza sounds so good right now. It's morning and I haven't had breakfast yet. Anyway, your clever good job with the apple box oven. You are amazing. I am making an annoucement and want to see how many people figure it out. Props to you for being the first. I'm 12 weeks along. Almost over the hump of the first trimester. Dr. Barong is my Doc again for this baby as well. I actually haven't seen him yet just his PA who is really nice as well.
Arah, you've written so much on your blog since I last dropped in; I guess I've been busier than I thought!
