teacher gift

I really should be cleaning my house (for the 100th time this week) and getting things ready for our trip, but I don't have the motivation at the moment and since Sarah is asleep, I can sit here without a kid hanging off me.
School got out last week. Brinely's teacher cried. It was sweet. It almost made me cry. I really loved her teacher. She was amazing. I got to know her fairly well from being in the classroom so much. She loves to read and since the weather here has been a bit on the cold and rainy side, I made her a lap quilt.

I love this quilt. I love the colors and the size. It was hard to give it up. I hope she liked it. She wouldn't look at the gifts that anyone brought into her. She was trying hard not to show emotion.

Dang Arah!!! Doesn't it just get annoying sometimes to be dripping with so much talent??? I bet you just don't know which amazing thing to do next. You are amazing. That quilt is gorgeous. I know for sure her teacher cried hard when she saw that. What a sweet thing to do for a teacher. Love you, Juli

reminds me of grandma...i love it. Do you have a quilting machine or do you send it to someone?

Kaisa- I don't have a quilting machine. I have a darning foot for my sewing machine and I freehand it. It drives Matt nuts cause I do it at night and it takes me about 2-3 hours consecutively. I usually do what's called stippling on my quilts. I love it. I'm not a fan of patterns either, so most of my quilts are my own design. Sometimes they are a little wonky, but I don't care.
